ABOUT R J KENNELS
At the toe of the Sierra Foothills, the Mother Lode Country of Northern California, between Sacramento and Auburn, our Kennels are located on 20 acres of historic farmlands....now training grounds for our Brittanys. With two ponds, a creek and plenty of natural pheasants and quail, even puppies have ample opportunities to test their pointing instincts. Large play yards, the ranch house and the fields are all part of the Brittanys' day. We currently have 10 Brits - 4 boys and 6 girls - ranging in age from 4 months to 14 1/2 years. Each has their own "job" whether it is as our hunting companion,a show dog, a field trial or hunt test dog. Sometimes the job is that of being a mom! We welcome visits to the Kennels by appointment. The RJ Kennels - Joyce and Robert Wire - have been designated BREEDERS OF MERIT by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Robert is a West Coast Director of the American Brittany Club and an AKC Judge for field trials, hunt tests and conformation shows. Joyce manages the Brittanys' performance calendars and the breeding program. With regards to our breeding program, puppies are available once (rarely twice) a year. We offer stud service to approved bitches only, with chilled or frozen semen available as well as natural breedings here at the Kennels. ABOUT THE BREED
The Brittany is a medium sized, upland game bird pointing dog that stands between 17 1/2 and 20 1/2 inches at the shoulder and weighs 30 to 40 pounds when fully grown. A true sporting dog, the Brittany is biddable and adaptable, making it an ideal companion as well as hunter. The Brittany is energetic, athletic, intelligent and affectionate. We find the Brittany to be easily and quickly trained using positive reinforcement, especially when generous amounts of exercise and socializing are provided. A bored Brittany is a naughty Brittany!!!

NEWS FLASH !!! THE 4TH DUAL CHAMPION FOR R J KENNELS!
We are "over the moon" to be able to announce that Genny has achieved the coveted title of DUAL CHAMPION. She is now DC RJ'S SHE'S GENUINELY DIVINE, MH. This is a very special girl who not only has she been placing and winning substantial Gun Dog stakes, but also was the 2003 Best of Opposite Sex at the AKC-Eukanuba National Championships! GENNY has had 2 litters each producing outstanding Brits. Her first litter with our RJ's FIRST EDITION, MH "KIPPER" included BISS,BIS,GCH RJ'S SIERRA EDITION, MH "QUINN" --BIF,BISw CH RJ'S KISS ME KATE, JH "KATIE"--RJ'S TOBIAS GOES COAST SIDE,CDX,RE,TD,JH,CGC!!! Her second litter included CH RJ'S SHE'S ALL IN "ALLIE" (a top ranked Sporting Dog in Hawaii) and CH RJ'S KENTUCKY MOONSHINE,MH "TUCKER"! She is our first female DC, joining Hardy, Spot and Sky with this dual honor.

R J KENNELS UPDATES -
FROM OUR KENNELS - RJ'S CUT TO THE CHASE, JH made his show ring debut at Camellia Capital KC with a blue ribbon both days in the 12 to 28 month old class. For the first time out he did a terrific job..nailed his free stacks and only a few bobbles on his go arounds. We are so proud of our new prospect,"CUTTER" (photo above)....FROM RED ROCK, NEVADA - Our BIS, mBISS GCH RJ'S SIERRA EDITION, MH "QUINN" won his first field trial ribbon (a red for 2nd Place) in an Open Gun Dog stake with 33 starters. Great win MR.QUINN!! FROM CANADA - Canadian Champion RJ's Paddington Bear,FDJ "PADDY" has earned his first points towards his AKC Championship during a trip across the border! Congrats to Ann Harris. FROM HASTINGS ISLAND - Our "CUTTER", RJ'S CUT TO THE CHASE, JH added the hunt test title to his name with super high scores. CUTTER is the son of our BIF,CH RJ's KISS ME KATE,JH "KATIE" and GCH SUNQUEST-CIMMARON CATCH THE WIND "CHASE" and makes his show debut over Mothers' Day Weekend....FROM FLORIDA - MIRAGE'S RISING STAR "KOLBY",son of "QUINN" and "SIERRA", who (last month) finished his show championship with all majors, now has achieved his Junior Hunter title! Way to go Kolby, Russo's and Moruzzi's!

LITTER INFORMATION
We plan no more litters for 2012. We will post information about future litters at a later date. For adult or juvenile Brittanys that may be available from time to time, you may call or email for information. Please note that the Kennel will still board R J BRITTANYS only, but be closed for visits from April to August 2012 as Robert will be undergoing treatment for cancer. We expect full recovery, but could use your thoughts and prayers in the meantime. Thank you for your interest in our Brittanys!!!
