ABOUT R J KENNELS
At the toe of the Sierra Foothills, the Mother Lode Country of Northern California, between Sacramento and Auburn, our kennels are located on 20 acres of historic farmlands, now training grounds for our Brittanys. With two ponds, a creek and plenty of natural pheasants and quail, even the puppies have ample opportunities to test their pointing dog instincts. Large play yards, including an agility course - the ranch house and the fields are part of each Brittany's day. We currently have twelve Brits - six males and six females - ranging in ages from 8 months to 14 1/2 years. Each has its own "job" whether it is as our hunting companion, a show dog, a field trial or hunt test dog, or being a Mom! We welcome visits to the kennels by appointment. With regards to our breeding program, puppies are available once...sometimes twice a year. We offer stud service to approved bitches only, with chilled or frozen semen available as well as natural breedings here at the kennels. ABOUT THE BREED
The Brittany is a medium sized, upland game bird pointing dog that stands between 17 1/2 and 20 1/2 at the shoulder and weighs 30 to 40 pounds when fully grown. A true sporting dog, the Brittany is biddable and adaptable, making it an ideal companion as well as hunter. The Brittany is energetic, athletic, intelligent and affectionate. We find the Brittany to be easily and quickly trained using positive reinforcement, especially when generous amounts of excercise and socializing are provided. A bored Brittany is a naughty Brittany!! WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Our BIF, MULTIPLE BOSS CH RJ'S KISS ME KATE, JH "KATIE" is off to work with Pierre Urrutia in preparation for her Senior/Master Hunt tests that start later in the winter. KATE'S son, RJ'S GOLD COUNTRY EDITION, "CHESTER", after a holiday rest, joins her with Pierre to extend his running endurance for hunting and hunt tests this winter. At 10 months, he hunts with intelligence and great enthusiasm, has a terrific stylish point and loves to retrieve. His real love and new-found skill is swimming crossing ponds to point his bird and to retrieve! Junior Hunter will be a snap for him. CH RJ'S PUTTIN' ON THE RITZ, MH "JOSH" keeps busy helping Pierre on guided hunts, as Demo-Dog for Fish and Game seminars, gun saftey classes for Juniors and videos for hunting enthusiasts. A star is born!

JANUARY 2010 - Just in from Florida...SASSY'S brother, MIRAGE'S THIS KID ROCKS "TUCK" - age 7 months - won his first show point from the Bred By class. Congrats to owner/breeder/handler Sandra Moruzzi and husband, Bill!!! QUINN won BOB/Group 4 at the Cow Palace Golden Gate KC Benched Show to finish up January..BIS, MULTIPLE BISS CH RJ's SIERRA EDITION, SH "QUINN" (photo above) FINISHED AT THE TOP FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW. AGAIN HE IS THE #1 AKC BRITTANY WITH 729 BREED POINTS - 216 POINTS AHEAD OF THE NEXT CONTENDER!!! Quinn and his handler, Bill McFadden, started off the New Year with a Sporting Dog Group 3 at the huge Palm Springs Kennel Club Show - a total of over 3000 competing on the beautiful Empire Polo Grounds. Quinn won the Oregon Brittany Club Specialty at the Rose City Classic...along with 4 out of 5 BOBs! He will be shown, by special invitation, at the 2010 Westminster Kennel Club Show, Madison Square Garden, New York in February. Our puppy, 7 month old MIRAGE-RJ'S SYMPLY SENSATIONAL."SASSY", was Reserve Winners Bitch to 3 and 4 point MAJORS at 4 out of the 5 Rose City Classic Shows! She definitely is going to be a contender this spring. Big Congratulations to Darin and Ann Hisanaga and their RJ'S SHE'S ALL IN, "ALLIE", on her Group 1 out in the Islands!!!! And to Rj'S TOBIAS GOES COAST Side -"TOBY" - who reported in with a completion of his RALLY EXCELLENT. Go Sandy Spinale and Toby!!!! Good Luck to all the versitile R J Brittanys as they start the new year in obedience, rally, agility, the show ring, hunt tests and field trials. There are also those who put in plenty of time as companions, hunting buddies and being Therapy Dogs.

LITTER INFORMATION
Our next litters will be bred in the early spring of 2010. One of the litters will be BIS,MBISS CH RJ'S SIERRA EDITION, SH "QUINN X MBIF,MBISS CH RJ'S TALK OF THE TOWN, JH "GABBY". The other litter will be AM/CAN CH RJ'S LIMITED EDITION, SH "TYLER" X CH RJ'S SHE'S GENUINELY DIVINE, MH "GENNY". We anticipate puppies that will be suited for hunting, competition and/or companionship. Photos and pedigrees are available to interested parties.
