ABOUT R J KENNELS
At the toe of the Sierra Foothills, the Mother Lode Country of Northern California, between Sacramento and Auburn, our Kennels are located on 20 acres of historic farmlands....now training grounds for our Brittanys. With two ponds, a creek and plenty of natural pheasants and quail, even puppies have ample opportunities to test their pointing instincts. Large play yards, the ranch house and the fields are all part of the Brittanys' day. We currently have 11 Britts - 5 boys and 6 girls - ranging in age from 8 months to 16 1/2 years. Each has their own "job" whether it is as our hunting companion,a show dog, a field trial or hunt test dog. Sometimes the job is that of being a mom! We welcome visits to the Kennels by appointment. The RJ Kennels - Joyce and Robert Wire - have been designated BREEDERS OF MERIT by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Robert is a West Coast Director of the American Kennel Club and an AKC Judge for field trials, hunt tests and conformation shows. Joyce manages the Brittanys' performance calendars and the breeding program. With regards to our breeding program, puppies are available once (rarely twice) a year. We offer stud service to approved bitches only, with chilled or frozen semen available as well as natural breedings here at the Kennels. ABOUT THE BREED
The Brittany is a medium sized, upland game bird pointing dog that stands between 17 1/2 and 20 1/2 inches at the shoulder and weighs 30 to 40 pounds when fully grown. A true sporting dog, the Brittany is biddable and adaptable, making it an ideal companion as well as hunter. The Brittany is energetic, athletic, intelligent and affectionate. We find the Brittany to be easily and quickly trained using positive reinforcement, especially when generous amounts of exercise and socializing are provided. A bored Brittany is a naughty Brittany!!!

NEWS FLASH !!! THE 4TH DUAL CHAMPION FOR R J KENNELS!
We are "over the moon" to be able to announce that Genny has achieved the coveted title of DUAL CHAMPION. She is now DC RJ'S SHE'S GENUINELY DIVINE, MH. This is a very special girl who not only has she been placing and winning substantial Gun Dog stakes, but also was the 2003 Best of Opposite Sex at the AKC-Eukanuba National Championships! GENNY has had 2 litters each producing outstanding Brits. Her first litter with our RJ's FIRST EDITION, MH "KIPPER" included BISS,BIS,GCH RJ'S SIERRA EDITION, MH "QUINN" --BIF,BISw CH RJ'S KISS ME KATE, JH "KATIE"--RJ'S TOBIAS GOES COAST SIDE,CDX,RE,TD,JH,CGC!!! Her second litter included CH RJ'S SHE'S ALL IN "ALLIE" (a top ranked Sporting Dog in Hawaii) and CH RJ'S KENTUCKY MOONSHINE,MH "TUCKER"! She is our first female DC, joining Hardy, Spot and Sky with this dual honor.

R J KENNELS UPDATES -
2011 was a great year for us. The Brittanys we personally own racked up titles that include Dual Champion, Master Hunter, Senior Hunter, Grand Champion! We welcomed 2 beautiful litters and added SOPHIE and CUTTER to our Family. We are on show hiatus the beginning of 2012, our KATIE is training for her Master Hunter title and our QUINN is going on to field trialing. Maybe he can match his mom, GENNY, to become a Dual Champion!! SASSY is at home with her litter of puppies and SARA will be bred the middle of January. NEWS FLASH FROM FLORIDA -QUINN'S son started his show career with back to back 4 point majors the weekend of January 7/8, then added a 3rd 4 point major this last weekend!!!. GO KOLBY (MIRAGE'S RISING STAR)!!! Congrats to Sandra and Bill in Vero Beach. Good luck to all the R J Brittanys and their owners in all your undertakings this year....and Congratulations on last year's accomplishment. We are so proud of you all.

LITTER INFORMATION
We welcomed our January litter a tad early on January 2. The dam is our GRAND CHAMPION RJ's SYMPLY SENSATIONAL,SENIOR HUNTER - "SASSY" and the sire is our BEST IN SHOW, MULTIPLE BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW, GRAND CHAMPION RJ's SIERRA EDITION, MASTER HUNTER - "QUINN". We will be posting weekly photos of the little guys on Page 5 which is the usual FAMILY AND FRINEDS PAGE. A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - We will breed a second litter for 2012! Mid January, RJ'S SWEET SERENDIPITY, MH "SARA" will be bred to BIS, MBISS,GCH RJ'S SIERRA EDITION, MH "QUINN".
