R J KENNELS, QUAIL RUN RANCH
Dual Quality American Brittanys: Competition, Hunting & Companionship

On Point at Quail Run Ranch
ABOUT R J KENNELS
At the toe of the Sierra Foothills, the Mother Lode Country of Northern California, between Sacramento and Auburn, our kennels are located on 20 acres of historic farmlands, now training grounds for our Brittanys. With two ponds, a creek and plenty of natural pheasants and quail, even the puppies have ample opportunities to test their pointing dog instincts. Large play yards, including an agility course - the ranch house and the fields are part of each Brittany's day. We currently have ten Brits - 4 males and 6 females - ranging in ages from 1 year to to 15 years. Each has its own "job" whether it is as our hunting companion, a show dog, a field trial or hunt test dog, or being a Mom! We welcome visits to the kennels by appointment. With regards to our breeding program, puppies are available once...sometimes twice a year. We offer stud service to approved bitches only, with chilled or frozen semen available as well as natural breedings here at the kennels. You are invited to refer to the following pages for more information about our Brittanys.

ABOUT THE BREED
The Brittany is a medium sized, upland game bird pointing dog that stands between 17 1/2 and 20 1/2 at the shoulder and weighs 30 to 40 pounds when fully grown. A true sporting dog, the Brittany is biddable and adaptable, making it an ideal companion as well as hunter. The Brittany is energetic, athletic, intelligent and affectionate. We find the Brittany to be easily and quickly trained using positive reinforcement, especially when generous amounts of excercise and socializing are provided. A bored Brittany is a naughty Brittany!! QUINN
NEW GRAND CHAMPION
IT IS OFFICIAL - Best In Show, Multiple Best In Specialty Show CHampion RJ'S SIERRA EDITION, SH - "QUINN" has earned the required amount of points to be titled GRAND CHAMPION. Quinn is the 8th Brittany to achieve that title within a month of the program's instigation. He is retiring as the #1 Breed Brittany and #2 All Breed Brittany as of the end of June. He has been top Brittany in 2008, 2009 and again, up until his retirement from the show ring, 2010. He has multiple Best In Specialty Show wins in each year - 3 wins in 2010. Quinn is the son of RJ'S FIRST EDITION, MH - KIPPER - who was not shown in conformation due to a slight limp from a compound Y fracture of the elbow at 18 weeks of age. This did not hinder him in becoming a Master Hunter. QUINN'S mother is CH RJ'S SHE'S GENUINELY DIVINE, MH, - GENNY - not only a BOS medal winner at the AKC-Eukanube National Championship, but also a terrific field dog who is 4 points away from a Field Championship to make her a Dual Champion...our first female Dual and 4th in the RJ Kennel. Quinn will be starting his tune up program in readiness for his Master Hunter tests....just where he left off to start his Specials Campaign in March of 2008.
